Assam, a northeastern state of India, is known for its rich natural resources, diverse culture and breathtaking scenery. Unfortunately, the state has also been grappling with the issue of extreme poverty for decades. Ultra-poverty, which is the most severe form of poverty, is prevalent in many parts of Assam, especially in rural areas. It is estimated that around 3 million people in the state live below the poverty line, and a significant number of them experience ultra-poverty. Ultra-poverty is defined as living on less than $0.60 a day, which means a person must struggle to meet their basic needs such as food, shelter, and clothing. This condition is often accompanied by malnutrition, poor health, lack of education and limited access to opportunities. Eradicating ultra-poverty from Assam is a daunting task, but it is necessary to ensure that every person in the state has access to a dignified life. Tonight's Special - Creamy Yogurt Prawns Ingredients to make Creamy Yogurt Prawns : • Prawns - 1/2 kg(de-veined and cleaned) • Ginger -garlic paste - 1 tbsp • Onion - 1 no(finely chopped) • Tomato - 1 no(finely chopped) • Yogurt - 1/2 cup • Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp • Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp • Chilly powder - 1/2 tsp • Garam Masala - 1/2 tsp • Olive oil - As reqd • Salt - As reqd Directions to make Creamy Yogurt Prawns : • 1) For preparing creamy yogurt prawns, first marinate the prawns in salt for 1/2 an hour. • 2) Heat olive oil in a deep frying pan and fry the marinated prawns till they get light brown. Remove it and keep it aside. • 3) In the same oil saute ginger-garlic paste and onion till it become light brown in colour. • 4) Add coriander powder, cumin powder and chilly powder.
